Business, Technology, and Analysis Paralysis

I am currently at a point in my life where it is time for me to start realizing the goals and paths that I have put down on paper. It really doesn't have anything to do with any time based deadline I placed upon myself but actually everything at this point in time is coming together and I need to move in order to keep the momentum going.
I work as a Network Consultant for a small IT firm and last year I came up with an idea of how to move the company onto a more profitable path. I created a plan and pitched it to the president, he liked it but wanted it to be implemented by someone else. Fortunately that fell through and after a few more months of revising the plan I got other people on board with my idea and pitched it again. This time I was in the drivers seat and it was my chance to show what I had. This is where the analysis paralysis started kicking in, things happened to be going pretty well but the momentum has somewhat slowed down and now I'm seem to be in a loop of researching and brainstorming. I need to do research for tools, research for marketing, research for operations... all this research but it seems I may be spinning my wheels a bit too much. I also do work for the parent company and I don't quite have it balanced out yet. I need to get on the ball and treat this as if I was doing this for my own company. I already have the backing from everyone and I need to make good on my promises.

I understand that you want all the credit but it is a lot of work. If it were your own company you'd find the best ppl to do the job at the cheapest price. Now of course I know that you're not trying to pay anyone to do the work but try to use all of your resources. I know you're a techie so you're saying I use all the search engines...but expand beyond that. Simple paper. There are ppl out there that have probably already done the research that you need especially in the market research area. Search for those companies that make a living doing research, then find out if they've done it for your industry. Approxmate the price for gathering all of this data (if the research isn't free...sometimes it is), put together a budget and see if you can get a little funding for your project from the R&D department. Anyway...I'm sure it'll go well for you.

Since the company is so small I am the R&D department. I would much rather not have to do it all myself and that was how it started off. It started getting to the point where I had to do the majority of the work because the other person that was working on this pretty much has a whole other job that they still have to work on.
The market research has been done and that was what finally convinced him to go ahead with the plan. The whole problem is the processes involved with the work, its pretty much building everything from nothing.

You know you are the only person I know in the world that uses Windows ME, I actually thought it would have blown up by now.
